V205 | Release Notes - December 2024

Date of Release: Mon 16 & Tue 17 December, 2024

Beta: Monday 9 December, 2024 Full Client Release: Mon 16 & Tue 17 December, 2024
πŸŽ„

Due to the holidays there will be no release 206. We will bundle together 206 features and fixes and add them to release 207.

β€˜Genres list’ now supports genre, theme, location, tag filters

The alternative for a full calendar filter has always been a more minimal β€œgenres” button style list. This part can be used stand alone on the Homepage, or above the calendar overview. It displays all genres neatly in a row.

This option has received a welcome expansion, and can now also be used to display locations, tags, themes or a combination of these.

Add a new parameter "filter" to the Genres List in Routes & Parts, and set value to β€œgenre” β€œlocation” β€œtheme” β€œtag” (or a combination, no comma’s in between).

Improved Maintenance module

The Maintenance module (System > Maintenance) can be used to block access to all website areas that communicate with the ticketing software. This covers login pages, personal accounts, baskets and the purchase path.

By scheduling a message you can prepare this in advance and tell your website visitors about the situation. The message will show up when trying to access all places mentioned above.

We have removed the option β€œDashboard maintenance”, as it was never used. The feature is now more simple and is only used for disabling traffic between the website and ticketing system. In Maintenance mode, some extra areas are now blocked that were previously ignored, like retrieving Visitor tags from the ticketing system when a user was still logged in while returning to the website.

Showcase Banners with Videos now fill full width on wide screens

Showcase banners now stretch videos to make sure they are full width on wide screens, without black bars on the side.

When adding video to a Showcase banner, the video would stretch to the full width of a screen, but was limited to the resolution of the video. In the new setup, we stretch video to full width always, while limiting the height. No more black bars on the sides on very wide screens. This does not apply to the β€˜boxed’ showcase, which has a limited width by design.

Display Publication date on Story cards

You can now show Publication dates on all Story cards. Enable the option in System > Control panel > Core > Publication date on stories set to Yes.

Narrowcasting β€˜fade’ animation option and control over animation speed

We have added new options for slide transitions within Narrowcasting. Next to the well known β€œslide” effect, you can now also use a β€œfade” transition effect. If a transition is too fast for your liking, adjust the speed. The default is 500 ms, this can be increased as you like. Note: 1000ms is 1 second.

A smart Course enrolment button based on the course state and last enroll date

For our Courses, the enroll button to sign up for a course is now a lot smarter. It automatically disables when the course status is set to β€œenrollment not possible”. Also, when the field β€œEnd date enrollment” is filled in, the button will no longer be active after that date.
